What VolleyPop Does:
VolleyPop was founded in January of 2008 to fill a void in the youth volleyball space. There simply is not enough or NO Youth volleyball programs in most areas. Where there are programs, they are staffed by volunteers, which makes it difficult in most cases for children to learn basic volleyball technique the right way, the first time around. When this happens, children learn bad habits or have a bad experience, which causes them to struggle once they get older in the sport or they just quit the sport all together. VolleyPop provides positive coaches that are trained professional coaches that have volleyball playing and or coaching experience. We refuse to allow children to have a negative first experience and to be taught basic volleyball skill sets the wrong way. Aren’t we in Southern California, the “hot bed for volleyball in the United States”?
Another focus of VolleyPop is to provide a fun and stimulating experience, but also to teach, challenge and inspire children to love the sport whether they are taking an after school classes with us or are stepping it up a notch at our VolleyPop youth volleyball league or camp (s). VolleyPop is here to promote each child’s physical development but also to provide leadership, teamwork, and character skill building through sport. The end goal is to support youth’s desire to be great athletes as well as build character and confidence through a positive outlet.

How We Do It:
At VolleyPop we support youth in communities by partnering with
local schools and youth development organizations offering after
school based programs, fall/winter/spring/summer leagues, camps
and clinics as well as private training. We use club coaches (from
Westlake VBC), local high school coaches, and local collegiate
players to staff all of our programs. All coaches are trained so they
are consistent in the way they teach volleyball technique.
